Learning to Crotchet
The girls had a special visitor Leoni from Australia who came to teach the girls to crotchet.Some of the girls had never used a crochet hook.Now they have a skill for ever.Its a spark of hope for them.

REIKI
Lotus Healing Seva Group (Kenya) held two camps at the same time on 4th July 2018!
As we have been doing for the past 6 years, we held our annual Reiki training camps for the girls of the Hawkers Market Girls Centre. Six girls completed Reiki 2 with Mamta Advani and three girls completed Reiki 1 with Anuradha Nath.
All the girls showed focus and commitment to share their gift of healing with the patients of Faraja Cancer Support Centre every week.

VISIT BY YESS PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS
Yess program is a Youth Exchange South to South program in which Girl guides visit a different country to learn about their culture and exchange with other youth in matters to do with Diversity and pluralism.
the girls were lucky to share with girls from Nepal,Madagascar,Burundi and Tanzania.

THINKNG DAY
Theme of this year's Thinking Day was #IMPACT. The girls participated in the ceremony at All Sants Cathedral.
This started by learning how to make their uniforms. For the first time they belonged to KGGA and 10 million around the world.

Christmas party year 2017
The girls celebrated x-mas party at the centre with Mrs Keshavjee.
Thank you dear Nasreen for the delicious pillau and raita.
We accompanied it with samosas and finished off with tea biscuits and popcorn.
Then to our utter surprise a Black Forest cake landed on our table.

3 Girls from the centre had the opportunity to participate in the Africa Youth Movement forum which was held in the month of March at USIU.The main Agenda for the forum was on SDGs and Agenda 2063.

INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY AWARD
This years International women's day saw the founder of Hawkers Market Girls Centre Mrs.Shariffa Keshavjee being honoured among other remarkable women at the Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi.The award was to celebrate the many success and achievements of women who have done extremely well and their contributions in the society.
Mrs Shariffa Keshavjee received an award for women empowerment and it was presented by the Turkish Ambassodor.
She dedicated the Award to all the girls at the centre because without them she could not have made an impact in their lives.
