Coffee Morning

on 2 Nov the girls at the centre had a coffee morning in which they invited friends for a cup of tea at 11.00am to help raise funds in support for the faraja Cancer care.The girls prepared coffee,cooked Doughnuts which they shared with friends and had a talk from Ulveena Dar on cancer awareness issues,how to take care of themselves and to always go for screening as early detection can save lives.The Proceeds will go to the Faraja Trust.

Like a Phoenix rising from the Ashes

The girls woke up to a rude shock to find the only place we call home down in ashes.These was shocking to most of us,we were left hanging on not knowing what to do next,words cannot even express how we felt. It was as if our hearts were also burnt in the fire.

However we did not loose hope, we gathered together and had to find a new place where we can settle.We were lucky to be housed by the Aga Khan Primary school who welcomed  us to use  our computer room as we still pondered on what  the next move will be.

Stacy Hilliard and Rashlin Bhachu visited the Hawkers Market Girls this week to conduct a seminar.

Stacy Hilliard is the principal and founder of Taysha consulting. The seminar dealt with communication and confidence building. The work shop enabled each girl to participate and talk so that they were audible and clear.
