Responding to corona virus

Here are the students of Hawkers Market Girls Center.HMGC. At HMGC we provide income generating skill, self empowernment and free food, fresh water and leadership skills. In response to the protection provided by masks, our students learnt to make masks.

Alice Nanyu joins secondary school

Alice Nanyu is a girl from Maasai land, she was able attain good grades. So this effort brought all of us allumnis to help her, and we believe it will change her life and that of her family.

SUBIRA Movie at westgate

All 32 of us were drawn to tears by SUBIRA'S struggle to follow her dream . Here we are most of us had never been to Westgate.Nor ever been to a movie theatre.Thank you Sippy for putting on this special show for us,thank you Ruth for inspiring us and supporting us we loved that the movie began with a light-a flame of hope.the father was a man full of Hope and love.

Graduation party 2018

This years graduation party was held on  21st Dec, 15 girls graduated after a 1 year vocational training  at the centre.

The Guest of hounour was Miss Alisa.Other Guests present were Our chairman Mrs.Kiplagat,Mrs Khan and the founder member Mrs.Keshavjee.

National Cup Competition

The National Cup copetition for the Girl Guides took place on 3rd to 6th  Dec at the Shanzu Transitional workshop in Mombasa.

7 girls participated in the competitions.Among the items they presented were The Girl guide law and promise,First Aid ,World Guiding,Environment among others.

Two Reiki Camps At One Go

The Lotus Seva Group Kenya held two camps at the same time on 4th July 2018.

6 girls completed Reiki 2 with Mamta Advani and 3 girls completed Reiki 1 with Anuradha Nath.

Blood Donation

The girls went to kenyatta hospital to donate blood.They were inspired by Aisha Dafalla a friend of the centre who is the highest female donor in Kenya and also the need to save life for those in dire need of blood.

Environment Day

On 5th June  2018  the Aga Khan primary school Pupils, the Girl Guides and Brownies together with the Young leaders of HMGC are doing a campaing on ''Keep My School Tidy.''

With that the school was able to get a donation of 6 bins from Chandaria Foundation courtesy of Mrs.Keshavjee.
