2016 Graduation

Hawkers Market Girls celebrated their 2016 graduation ceremony at the centre on 4th December 2016 at their centre in Agha Khan Primary premises. Ten girls successfully graduated from the one year course of tailoring, lifeskill,computer skills,crafts among other skills. The girls were as follows;Elvine Njeri, Judy Wanjiku, Tabitha Adhiambo, Matilda Vutage, Metrine Auma, Virginia Wagithi, Maurine, Beth Mbithe and Lilian Akou.

Some of the people who were present to grace the ocassion were Milicent Ila, Caroline Akinyi, Jenipher Nashipai and Damaris Mititia from Global FICCS, Mrs. Keshavjee, Ulveena Dar, Narina(Nazi's niece), Festo, Isabella and the guest of honor Nancy Warsaw who happened to be Mrs. Shariffa Keshavjee's long term friend. The MC was none other than Caroline Akinyi an alumni of HMGC and who is currently working for Global FICCS as an assistant manager and is pursuing Diploma in Information Technology at KCA University.

The day was made more enjoyable through the entertainment from the girls which ensured that everyone had a smiling face throughout the ocassion.

The girls were encouraged to go out with the spirit of hardworking and resillience which will enable them achieve their goals in life through the skills they also learnt at the center. They were asked to be God fearing, disciplined and courageous in life.

The day was made more successful when a cake was cut to celebrate Isabella's graduation party from the university of Nairobi which was a major achievement to her and the hawkers girls center as a whole.

Congratulatory speeches were made by Milicent Ila from Global FICCS who used to teach the girls health education, Isabella their leader, Caroline an alumni, Mrs. Keshavjee the founder and the guest of honor Mrs. Nancy Warsaw who was really an encouragement to the girls.
